Just wanted to thank Emory Schroeter for putting on the Peach Pattern Classic this weekend at Mac Hodges field. . . Everyone had a great time. There were four pilots for who this was their first pattern contest, if this contest didn't "hook" them then I don't know what will!! If anyone on the list knows these guys, tell them we're talking about them and that they need to join the conversation!!!

As usual, Mac's field was an absolutely beautiful location for a pattern contest. Golf course grass, large metal overhead, RV hookups, and a world-class hobby shop right on the field. When I grow up, that's where I want to live. . .

I was too beat to stay Friday night, but Emory put up a giant screen projector to watch a movie and word was that everyone had a great time watching Avatar.

And for the Coup 'de Grass, Victor Diaz not only swept Advanced, but put on a rib cooking clinic Saturday night and fed the whole crew - even Chris Odom. Be careful Victor, Emory may make your ribs an official event at this contest next year!!

The weather was great, and everyone (except one guy who's name rhymes with "Lohn Jowe") managed to avoid the pop-up thunderstorms and Emory got in six rounds for everyone except FAI - who would have been finishing up in a torrential downpour.

Thanks again, Emory, I appreciate all of the hard work and preparation that goes into putting on a contest like this. I'll be dropping Mac a Thank You e-mail later today for letting us use his field. . . Hope we're on the calendar again for next year. . .
