Lightly spray water on the balsa, smear the poly glue on the balsa and a light, even coat of glue on the plywood. Press everything together, lay a sheet of wax paper on a flat surface, set the firewall on the paper, cover with another sheet of wax paper,
and stack a LOT of books on top. The poly glue will foam and penetrate the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">BALSA</span>, the weight is necessary to keep the plywood from being pushed away from the balsa by the foaming glue. The resulting structure is very light, very strong, and offers a wide gluing surface inside the fuselage.<br><br>My setup uses a Hyde mount, so I glued 3/32" plywood disks approximately 3/4" diameter to hold the blind nuts on the backside of the fire wall. Nothing is
needed on the front, the Hyde mount has a large back surface to spread the load.<br><br>I have been flying this in my YS160DZ powered Temptation for 4 seasons now without any problems.<br><br>Bob Kane<br>
