Only 1 point out of 1<sup>st</sup>, RATS! Anyway… This was my first NATS since 1983, when I also placed 2<sup>nd</sup>. After the NATS I got a call from the nice people at Byron Fuels…. They wanted me to fly their fuel. I explained to them that I appreciated their interest in me, but that I was very happy with Morgan/Cool Power fuels. They persisted in telling me that they had the BEST fuel on the market and that it was superior to Cool Power. Well, I had to take exception to that. <br>

You see, in the 2 ½ years leading up
to the 1990 NATS, I never lost a single ROUND at a pattern contest in Expert class! I flew in 10-15 contests each year. In that period of time, I had not changed a single part in my YS .60RE engine, other than a glow plug. The engine never quit, was 110% reliable. So, I explained to the Byron folks, your fuel CAN’T be any better! It MIGHT be as good, but can’t be better….</span></font></div>
