This is one of those things you finally do and wonder why you hadn't thought of doing it twenty years ago:

I have developed over the years either by chance or design several small tools--like files, screwdrivers, short and long allen wrenches, wires for pulling leads through wings, various cutting tools for very specific jobs, etc., etc. Never can seem to locate them in the heat of battle.

On the way home the other night, I picked up an 18" or so magnetized tool holding strip from ACE--about $15.00, made a couple L shaped 1" X 1 1/2'" stands with a cross piece about the same width of the 2 mounting screws on the holder--about 11" OAH. I left about 1 1/2" rearward of the verticals so as to lessen the possibility to knock it over--the bases were about 8-9" OA. Sorry about the inexactness--but I just eye-balled the whole thing. I thought as I was building this thing--'Man, this is going to be too
big!' Wrong. I've got so much crap on it now, I'm thinking about doing another and with the open back, there's twice the space! It's portable, and you can find those tools when you need them. I just glued and screwed it together with stuff I had. FWIW

RS _ Sorta like this..
IX --Holder IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I
