<DIV> I run my Futaba servos (even ones rated for "4.8V only") on 6.0V with 2 Thunderpower 730 LiPO packs and 2 Tech-Aero regulators. Not a problem. Here's my understanding of the "4.8V only" Futaba servo deal: In the old days Futaba stated that their servos could be run on either a 4-cell alkaline battery pack or a 4-cell NiCad pack. Well, a 4-cell alkaline battery pack is nominally 6.0V. If you look at a 4-cell NiCad pack when it comes off the charger it's not 4.8V. I know they say to use a 4.8v pack only but I think you have to read between the lines here. First of all, they're assuming that most people will not be using a regulator. Just a fully charged battery pack. They don't want you to use a 5-cell pack because the voltage is pretty high on those when they're fully charged. That's why I believe they say "4.8V only". Because most people think of a 4-cell niCad pack as 4.8V. It isn't though. Now, if you run a regulator, you'll
always have pretty close to the regulated voltage and in that case the cell count doesn't really matter. I think if you put a voltmeter on a fully charged 4-cell niCad pack you might be surprised.</DIV>
