The first contest of the season<BR>
is but a month away<BR>
I have not flown yet this year<BR>
and won't fly again today<BR>

The yard needs cleaning<BR>
the deck needs staining<BR>
I did get it power stripped<BR>
but now it's raining<BR>
<BR>
The new plane still waits in the box<BR>
I gaze in the workshop and feel a tear<BR>
it looks like old faithful will be my mount<BR>
yet another year<BR>
<BR>
But new thoughts sustain me<BR>
I have hope a new day will dawn<BR>
and I will be flying once more<BR>
instead of mowing the lawn<BR>
<BR>
I look forward to great times with great friends<BR>
discussing the the finer points of a roll<BR>
a steak at the Roadhouse, a beer and a laugh<BR>
these things elevate the soul<BR>

To all my friends in D4 and D5<BR>
I hope to see you soon on the trail<BR>
but I ask you to be kind when I push the wrong stick<BR>
and reveal it with my tail<BR>
