<BLOCKQUOTE type="cite">Jim, I typically discharge around 3400 or
less. With the new P09 sequence, a full sequence only uses about
25-2700 mah. I will admit I have not 'babied' these packs
initially. If they were going to puff or loose capacity early in
their life I wanted to know. So, after the first 5 easy flights, I started
pushing them with 85-90% discharges for about 10-15 flights. They
would get up around 120 degrees on a 90 degree day but they stayed in
balance pretty well and charged fine. They held their capacity after
a 4 month storage at 50% discharge and kept in a cool workshop over the
'winter' here in NorCal.<BR><BR>Don<BR><BR><BR>-----Original

discharging the 4100s? I was thinking about some 4500s to save
weight but not sure how the cycle life would be affected. Once in
awhile I'll fly some extra maneuvers and get up in the 4000 mAh range.
I guess one would discipline himself better if he didn't have the

<DIV>That is one of the issues with these type packs. You never
know what the configuration is or what cells they may be using when you
re-order. To give credit where it is due, the 'name brand' packs
can be replicated, you know what you are getting when you order a 'xyz
10s' configuration. And you can probably order another one 6-12
months from now and get the same thing.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Having said that, I too have been experimenting with 'generic'
packs, so far with good luck. My 'generic' 4100 pack has over 50
cycles on it and going strong. However, it has to reach over a 100
cycles to reach break even cost with my 'name brand' packs which have
well over 200 cycles each and still performing reasonable well.
Only time will tell. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I know the prices have dropped even more since I bought my
'generic' pack late last summer so that cost ratio has probably shifted
a little since then.</DIV>
