<div>Thanks Anthony. I like the idea of the PVC.</div>
<div>I had a IMAC Lazer shed a wing last year because of a wing bolt coming loose and I'm a little goosey...it wasn't pretty!<br><br> </div>

<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: left">Pretty standard arrangement actually. Not a lot of load on that 4-40 bolt, the most important thing is that it stays in place. Over time the thread in the thin wing tube will wear but you can just rotate the tube and re-drill. Most usually glue a small block of wood or piece of PVC inside the tube to hold threads or catch a blind nut. <br>
If it makes you feel better you could add a bolt through that leading edge hole. Just make sure it stays in. Had a nylon 1/4-20 back out of one plane and the end result was very messy.<br> I prefer the bolts in the tube type of set up to avoid having to take the canopy off every time I assemble/disassemble the airplane. <br>

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Eclipse wing attachment
<div><span class="e" id="q_118dc30145745b50_1"><br><br>
<div>I just bought a used CA Models "Eclipse" with a YS 140, Hitori pipe etc. </div>
<div>I have a question about the wing attachment.</div>
<div>Each wing half slides onto the aluminum center tube and there is an incident adjustment peg on the fuse that the trailing edge of each wing fits over. </div>
<div>The aluminum center tube is tapped for a 4-40 bolt about 8 inches out from the fuse on both sides. Once the wing halfs are slid onto the tube, theses 4-40 bolts are inserted through the top of the wing.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>That's it! Kind of a cheesey arrangement.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>There is a hole in the fuse at the leading edge of the wing and a corresponcding (plywood reinforced) hole in each wing half. However, there isn't any hardware associated with these attachment points. I think something is ovbviously missing and would appreciate it if anyone with "Eclipse" experience could help me out.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Thanks,</div>
