Not hugely in favor of extra awards in a local contest beyond recognizing the winner and the next two in a class. Extra 'awards' for lower places in local contests starts to feel like the kid soccer leagues where 'everyone's a winner so everyone gets a trophy'. <BR>
Haven't earned a Masters class award in my 3 years in the class - frustrating, but at least I know why it is - GOOD flyers above me in the class! ...that'll just make it that much sweeter when I gets in amongst 'em! <BR>

Recognition of aging pilots by giving them awards? Again - not crazy about it for local contests (After all, it's pretty much the same group of guys at each contest!) -- but then I'm still a youngster at 55! <BR>
