a sign of things to come. LOL I had been gone so long, I do not
think anyone expected me to ever return. I am glad a did. Dad and I
had a ball last year and hope to have ALOT more fun this year. I will have
my trailer ready for my planes and an RV to tow it with, so we get to stay at
the field as opposed to driving to and from hotels. Always more fun when
we stay at the field. I have a couple people I am working on locally and
maybe I can get the flying pattern too. I am also trying to get Les Modlin
back into pattern again.

FARM this year. I just moved back to Virginia in November. I
remember Dougie and Herb and Mike very well and flew at the Fentress NATS in
1988 I believe. I bet we could manage to bring several people to a
Chesapeake contest if you have one. The first time I brought out my
pattern plane to the local field in November, I had 3 guys approach me and
said they wanted to get into pattern, so I am very hopeful we can grow some
more interest here.

Chris

Paul LaChance wrote:

So far it seems ALOT of people would be interested in
a contest in Chesapeake again. I am not sure how much help or interest my
club will have but I will start trying to get some interest builot up. If I
do have a contest I may need some help running it if I cannot get enough
club interest. I will do what I can. I am not a CD at this time, but will
look into that too. I think the club has a CD that would help though, I just
need to talk to him. I flew with Dougie and Herb Consolvo and MIke Engalis.
They are LAOT of the reason I flew pattern in the beginning and why my love
of pattern brought me back in 2007. Did you fly at the Farm contest this
past year? I can't place a name with the face. Sorry of we DID meet. LOL

Paul:

If you have a contest again in Chesapeake, I
will be there. I remember
going to Fentress back in the 80's with the

reminiscing, I remember the PGRC
contest in Bowie, the Sweet Air in
Baltimore and the old DCRC in
Rockville. All in Maryland. York, and
Warminster in Southern PA, and
Richmond and Chesapeake and Arcola in
VA. Out of all of these, we have
the NVRC held at the FARM club left

Bob,
>
> Yes that was when we were both flying a long time

do ot think I will be able to make it happen this year. If I can swing it,
it will be at the end of the seaon. Most likely it will be next season
though.
>
> I miss The Smithfield contest. Was always one of
my favorites. There and Germantown, MD. There was Winston -Salem, Hign
Point, Oilville, and NVRC had their own contest. I think the ONLY VA
contest now is at the FARM club. I love flying there too though. Very nice
people.
>
> I hope we can get this all going again. If I have
a contest In Chesapeake, I will plan on our club field as opposed to
Fentress. The sun, trees, and concrete runway have always been a problem
for flyers not used to flying there. Although I have seen some great
bike/umbrella action on the Fentress runway. LOL
>
> Paul
