So far it seems ALOT of people would be interested in a
contest in Chesapeake again. I am not sure how much help or interest my
club will have but I will start trying to get some interest builot up. If
I do have a contest I may need some help running it if I cannot get enough club
interest. I will do what I can. I am not a CD at this time, but will
look into that too. I think the club has a CD that would help though, I
just need to talk to him. I flew with Dougie and Herb Consolvo and MIke
Engalis. They are LAOT of the reason I flew pattern in the beginning and
why my love of pattern brought me back in 2007. Did you fly at the Farm
contest this past year? I can't place a name with the face. Sorry of
we DID meet. LOL

Paul:

If you have a contest again in Chesapeake, I will
be there. I remember
going to Fentress back in the 80's with the
Consolvo's and Mike Ingalls
being from the area. Since we are reminiscing,
I remember the PGRC
contest in Bowie, the Sweet Air in Baltimore and the
old DCRC in
Rockville. All in Maryland. York, and Warminster in Southern
PA, and
Richmond and Chesapeake and Arcola in VA. Out of all of these, we
have
the NVRC held at the FARM club left and I am a member of the Farm
club
now, so I will be there this

Bob,
>
> Yes that was when we were both flying a long time ago. I
am going to try to get a contest started again in Chesapeake, but do ot think
I will be able to make it happen this year. If I can swing it, it will be at
the end of the seaon. Most likely it will be next season though.
>
> I miss The Smithfield contest. Was always one of my
favorites. There and Germantown, MD. There was Winston -Salem, Hign Point,
Oilville, and NVRC had their own contest. I think the ONLY VA contest now is
at the FARM club. I love flying there too though. Very nice people.
>
> I hope we can get this all going again. If I have a contest
In Chesapeake, I will plan on our club field as opposed to Fentress. The sun,
trees, and concrete runway have always been a problem for flyers not used to
flying there. Although I have seen some great bike/umbrella action on the
Fentress runway. LOL
>
> Paul LaChance
> Virginia Beach,
