<DIV>I helped to build the Abbra gas for a friend. We used the ZDZ 40 (non F3A version) hard mounted initially but after fluttering one aileron it was decided to install a custom made soft mount. The plane was 11 lbs 5-6 oz. The Abbra is very light airframe and we could not make the 11 lbs. Therefore, meeting weight is probably your first issue. Second issue is noise. I think we were OK using the soft mount and the ES pipe header for gas engines. However, I never had chance to measure noise levels.</DIV>

<DIV> I flew the plane 3-4 times and it was evident that the power was was limited compared with the Abbra glow version in doing the old Master schedule. I believe that prop selection could be part of the problem but never had chance to try other props. I think that gas is a good option in the lower classes. Base on this single experience, it could be a problem for Master or F3A.</DIV>

<DIV>Probably a stupid question, but has anyone had any success running gas engines in pattern ships? The Brison 2.4 and 3.2 are real powerhouses for example.</DIV>
