him being upset. If I was wrong, I humble apologize.</FONT></DIV>

That is what I took as him being upset. Of course he didn't make the trip,
so he wasn't upset, that I fully understand.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Hi,</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I don't think my frind Terry was very upset. I talked with him on
Saturday evening and told him the contest was complete on the first day. He
wasn't traveling to Hadley on Sunday. He made a great choice to spend
Saturday with his grandson and celebrate his third birthday.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I thought we pilots agreed that the outcome was determined by the fifth
round on Saturday. It made no sense to fly the sixth or even the seventh round
on Sunday. Someone coming in for Sunday only couldn't have achieved enough
points to make any difference to the points already scored by the other
pilots. I thought the CD just rubber stamped the pilots decision.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The bottom line is we had a great time at Hadley this year and I hope Del
and Terry and all the other pilots who missed it this year will put it on
their calendars for 2008. Hadley is a great place to fly and have an aerobatic
good time.</DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Not disputing that fact, rules are rules.
The "arrow" was meant for Terry who seemed extremely upset that a
contest layout was changed without his knowledge, and that he "may" have
traveled to that contest on the second day, which we all know wasn't
held. I understand that all of the rules are meant to be followed, I
wouldn't have it any other way, but in certain cases "maybe" a allowance of
flexibility needs to be entertained. I don't believe the rules allow
this, at the moment, however, it's certainly worth discussing in the
future.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>For the record, I don't mean to call Terry out

contest that Arch Stafford had a few years back where we had a total
of 9 or 10 people show up 3 of which were local sportsman pilots.
We had a full spread too, with 1 or 2 in each class.
It didn’t make much sense to hold a traditional contest
but we were all there to have some pattern “fun”. Soooooo... We
made it a 2 class contest. The sportsman pilots each flew 2
rounds at a time (One takeoff and landing), with lots of feedback (the
entire group judged each flight) and they had a very competitive well
judged event. <BR><BR>The rest of us ALL flew the advanced
pattern, with Handicaps. FAI got –1pt per maneuver,
Masters –1/2pt, Advanced flew it straight up, and Intermediate
pilots got +1pts. <BR><BR>It was not only a lot of fun
(Everyone but the advanced guys were flying an unknown for the most
part) but it also was a VERY tight contest. I don’t recall who
won...didn’t really matter. <BR><BR>No..it didn’t follow the
advertised sanctioned contest, but it was great fun, competitive, a
very good learning/practicing event, and it made the best from the
turnout we had.<BR><BR>-Mark</SPAN></FONT>
