wouldn't leave it on too long. Shoot from a can if you must, clear coat
with automotive clear for optimum results. Personally, I just repainted a
good portion of Arch Staffords old Mantis with an acrylic latex called
Ceramcoat, bought from WalMart. After I was happy with the color, I
shot it with Dupont Nason 496-00, with extremely good results. Keep in
mind I'm no real quality painter, but I can make it look good from a couple of
feet away ;-)</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Jim,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Art Wagner and myself use Lustercoat to
paint with. Art did an article in one of the K-Factor...cant
remember which one at the moment.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Warming the cans in hot water or with a
hair dryer is really needed. Keep a supply of nozzles handy
soaking in acetone and change them frequently to avoid splattering from
partial clogging. Make sure your finger tip does not over lap the
top of the nozzle. I have found the over spray can drip off your
finger tip into the air stream and make a blob in the spray area.
Art says the new cans of paint seem to be better formulated and have a
better spray nozzle. So be careful of old stock.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I use the Lustercoat white primer.
Century 21 white for base coat or Lustercote. Century 21 has
the best nozzle on spray can that I have found to date. Its just
hard to match some of the colors to Monocoat. </FONT><FONT face=Arial
size=2>You can color sand Lustercoat and Century 21 and hand polish the
sheen back and not have to clearcoat. Or use PPG clearcoat
for a no maintenance type finish.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hope this helps.</FONT></DIV>
