the details should be considered up front.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>We are currently using all of the sites available
at the AMA complex. Most likely adding a class would have to be at Site 4 and
use the existing scoring and control staff. They could tell us if that is an
option. It would require another set of pins for the Class. The setup leading
into the Nats would be more complicated. There would likely be some very
"inexperienced" pilots competing. It would likely require judges from the
classes above and their skill level is not generally high enough to serve in the
same capacity for the higher classes. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The real Big Question in my mind is how many
contestants would be willing to spend the price of a Nats for a total of 25
minutes of flying? </FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Would it serve the goals of the AMA, NSRCA and the
contestant? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It can be done but once a CD goes to the effort of
putting together a contest and no one shows up, he is reluctant to repeat the
exercise. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It appears to me the need for a class is doubtful
when it attracts less than about 20 contestants. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It is too late for consideration this year and
hopefully the Sportsman class moves up pretty quick. </FONT></DIV>

<DIV><BR></DIV>Matt - at least you make a valid point about time and making
room for other events etc. But, WHO decided Sportsman Class was less
important? I pay my dues just like everybody else! It is my dues, in part,
that helps put the NATS on to begin with. Some say 'intent' is an issue. OK, I
intend not participate in the NATS. I should get my 'not intended' portion of
my dues back from AMA. <BR>Some things are just wrong. Just because 'it is
written' or 'the intention was' does not make exclusion of the Sportsman
class at NATS the right.<BR>And, that's all I got to say about that.
<BR>Peace. <BR><BR>
