<div>I'm not sure about where this field is located, but the prevailing winds in NC are generally from the west. I can't imagine SC being much different. So, a field laid out facing north would have the wind blowing down the runway. Takeoff right-to-left. </div> <div> </div> <div>Of course, I use the word "generally" rather loosely. :-) The field where I fly faces east, the morning sun is pretty bad. We rarely have wind blowing in, but we often have winds from either the north or south.</div> <div> </div> <div>Bob R.</div> <div><BR><BR><B><I>Archie Stafford <rcpattern@stx.rr.com></I></B> wrote:</div> <BLOCKQUOTE class=replbq style="PADDING-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; BORDER-LEFT: #1010ff 2px solid"> <META content="Microsoft Word 11 (filtered medium)" name=Generator> <STYLE> v\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} w\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);} </STYLE>

paint. What do you guys think? Any improvements? The runway paralles an access road that is dirt and is only used for driving around the property during the week and not much then. Over flight area is about 300 acres and the nearest house is about ½ mile out center and none on either end. The field faces almost due north so sun will not be a problem. I proposed a 80x600 runway of smooth grass with somewhat smooth over runs.<IMG id=_x0000_i1025 height=450 src="cid:4240245665000000@web56515.mail.re3.yahoo.com" width=597 border=0><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></div> <DIV class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: center" align=center><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"> <HR align=center width="100%" SIZE=2> </SPAN></FONT></DIV> <div class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">_______________________________________________<BR>NSRCA-discussion mailing
