<DIV>Maybe I just need to get out my handy dandy CG machine and balance my 14MZ
with a short antenna on it. Then probably just drill a small hole lower in
the face of the TX and move the neckstrap hook down an appropriate
amount. <IMG src="http://cdn-cf.aol.com/se/smi/0201d20638/08"> Then put a
piece of duct tape over the old hole.... anyone have any duct tape that
matches the finish on a 14MZ? <IMG
src="http://cdn-cf.aol.com/se/smi/0201d20638/05"></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Just kidding guys... I am actually pretty excited by
the technical changes that we may be able to take advantage of in the near
future and I do think the competition amoung our RC vendors is a very good
thing.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>On a more serious note, if I understand the theory behind the DX7 and
it's grouping of channels/functions in the way it sends data to reduce lag
between similar function. The 12MZ and 14MZ do the same thing by grouping
functions together in adjacent 'channels'. Hopefully, this will translate
into similar reductions under 2.4 implementations.</DIV>

<DIV>IMHO there doesn't seem to be a lot of transmitters out there that have
the neck strap attachment eye in the proper place for comfortable balance.
That's why many of us fabricate an extension to move the C.G. to the correct
location. Not all that hard to do, but it sure points up shoddy engineering
practices on the part of the design department.</DIV>
<DIV>The Futaba 8U wasn't bad, but when they went to the 9C they lost it. My
JR ain't that great and I know Dave L. uses an exension on his. A Tray
probably helps some with the problem.</DIV>

<DIV>Looking at the way the Spectrum antenna is supposed to mount, why
couldn't you just make a plastic ring/sleeve that would snap over the tip of
the fully collapsed 9Z antenna and slide the Spectrum into that
ring/sleeve. That way, the original configuration is not disturbed at
all.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Having flown a DX7, I was uncomfortable with the way the transmitter
hung from the neckstrap. To me it seemed very 'bottom heavy' without
the normal antenna somewhat counter balancing it. Some may choose to leave
the old antenna in place and extend it to fly for balance purposes.
Not a big thing but it was noticeable to me.</DIV>
