I said that the basic purpose is to make the airflow track down the length of the tailcone, rather than spilling around the top, as the plane is yawed. That improves both pitching behavior and knife edge power. When I get the needed weather, I will hang a little straightener on the Funtana to see what happens to its strong push to the belly in
