It's not a question of "if", but when you are going to go into hold.
There's been some discussions between guys who have lost their planes and

Futaba about the statement you are referring too...

I got lucky. Mine would go into hold on throttle only, no problems
with any of the other channels... That was about the time at which
they

just started to find out there was a problem... I tried
everything. Nothing helped. I bought a new receiver and noticed the
shorter antenna,

so I started digging and found the big discussion. Since the new
receiver worked flawlessly, I cut the antenna on the original and put it back

as a sneeze.

14mz and compact flash card

My question isn't about the card but about the antenna length
on the R5014
receiver. There was an article in RCU about cutting the
antenna length to
21.6" to solve intermittent holds. Then I read something
from Futaba that
you should not cut the antenna, you should tighten any
metal or carbon
vibration to solve the problem. A friend bought a new radio
with that
receiver and it has the shortened antenna. So my question is if
Futaba is
shipping new receivers with the shorter antenna then why would
they
recommend not cutting the antenna? Holds no matter how short, unnerve
me to
the point of not wanting to fly the airplane. I have been using
1024
receivers with the 14mz radio.

Claude Weimer

Saved settings, recalled settings, much
more room for tunes, etc.
Didn't test to see if there was a problem with a
large number of files on
the card - possible the MZ itself can't display
beyond a certain

the saved
planes read in to the radio fine, I wouldn't expect any
issues. From the
test, I will experiment once the temperature gets
more reasonable for
flying. Minus 10 last night.....

Ted
