I don't think most members know how much thanks we
all owe to Lamar. He came to office pledging to spread authority and give
people with initiative the freedom to solve problems and bring solutions to the
board. I appreciated that when I was assigned the district border issue to
work on. Lamar has always promoted transparency and a team spirit.
His efforts to document the job descriptions of all officers, and our procedures
for banking, the KF, Nats, etc. have given us a foundation to build on.
Initially, Lamar envisioned leading a team of idea champions, but halfway
through he had to roll up his sleeves twice (first to his elbows and then to his
shoulders) when he took on the jobs of the secretary, VP and prez. In my
extended conversations with him, we spend 90% of the time talking modeling and
even though in some ways people might think, as hobby suppliers, we are
competitors, the truth is I don't feel that at all.

reviewing the cost of the K-FACTOR and the income of NSRCA at our November
board meeting the NSRCA Board voted to the Membership dues from $30.00
to $40.00 per year. The Advertisers and NSRCA Membership dues have been
carrying the cost of the K-FACTOR over the years. Our Membership dropped and
is now slowly coming back, Advertising has gone down, and the publishing costs
of the K-FACTOR have increased. These are the main reasons behind the need for
a dues increase, and if you will think back, we have not had an increase in
dues for over 8 years.

last Presidents report. I want to thank the Membership, Officers and DVP’s for
their support over the past two years. We have made a lot of progress
together, and some of my goals are still to be completed as I indicated in
the November K-Factor. Now it is time for the new Officers to
review our past progress and “things left to do”, and set their own goals to
continue to take NSRCA forward. I
