<DIV>Along these lines....</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Part of the point of the system config I run is that both RX lipos and
Vregs are identical so it is much simpler to maintain backups and
compatability.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Part of what I do to evaluate the health of the system, is on odd #
flights, I plug in lipo #1 and Vreg#1 first and lipo#2 and Vreg#2 first on
even # flights. In this way, I know each system is working every other
flight. At pretty much any point in time, I can check the voltage of the
individual lipos, and if they are not very close to the same, I know one lipo
is getting weak, or one is doing more than 50% of the work in the air.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>With the TP480s, the all up weight is about 68 grams - less than 2.5 oz,
and easily good for 10 flights.</DIV>

<DIV>Hi Lance:</DIV>
<DIV>There are other products coming that will have capabilities like that,
only much more. This is really designed for Pattern type apps, to keep the
weight way down. BTW, it's easy to run two or more FlexRegs off just
one switch. I can offer that packaging option to save cost and
eliminate another hole in the side of the cabin. For the Electric
power guys, it can also be used without any switch at all. That's
what Dave Lockhart and some others are doing. His configuration
winds up being only 0.8 oz for two FlexRegs, plus the weight of the two
batteries. I think he's using a pair of TP 2C 480 mAh packs. I
use pairs of TP 2C 730s. Very light.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Thanks again for your suggestions.</DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial>Ed,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>Thanks. Here's a suggestion for the
future. Put an LED onthe reg that lights when the power is
flowing. You can put an RC on the front end so it won't light unless
current flows for more than 1 sec or so. This way you can know if
the backup battery is kicked in.</FONT></DIV>

better/different setup. It's hard to evaluate the advantages
of your product without seeing the applications diagrammed
out.</FONT></DIV>

Tech-Aero Designs open for business!</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>I'm pleased to announce that Tech-Aero Designs is now open
for business. The initial product offerings are based on the
Failsafe Programmable Regulator design that I originally designed
to resolve a product feature gap that both Dave Lockhart and I
were struggling with about this time last year. We both
wanted a very precise, small, light weight, ultra reliable
regulator system that would work equally well with any battery
technology. Besides being able to function with ordinary
single battery systems, it also had to be more precisely settable
than any other unit available, in order to be an effective,
balanced solution for redundant battery configurations.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Between Dave, myself and a few other local Pattern flyers,
we've accumulated a full season worth of flawless flying with the
pre-production units. Now the Tech-Aero FlexReg is available
in production. Please visit us at:</DIV>
