That is the same engine as the MVVS 26cc Petrol, and it really comes alive on a tuned pipe. You can also order it from Pe Reveirs in The Netherlands for EU275 ($330 US) shipped. He provides great service, is extremely knowledgeable, and ships very quickly. He posts on RCU very often. He reports the following:

>Typical rpm figures:
>Prop-dimension-rpm-muffler
>APC 16/12 7300-7400 3266
>APC 16/10 8100-8300 3266
>APC 18x8N 8100-8200 3266
>Mejzlik 18/8 8100-8200 3266
>Mejzlik 18/8 7200-7300 3270
>Mejzlik 18/8 6700-6800 3298

(The 3266 is a full-length tuned pipe, and costs an additional $37. The last two numbers are using smaller side or compact exhausts, displaying the benefit of the pipe. Added up, the engine plus the tuned pipe -- including header, coupler, mounting hardware -- will cost under USD$370 shipped).

Paul at Just Engines in England also sells this engine for about the same price. Those of us on the east coast of the US are amazed at just how fast shipping can be from Europe.

Check
www.mvvs.nl or www.justengines.unseen.org

Dick Hanson put this engine with a pipe in a Hangar 9 Showtime. It weighs 10# 2oz dry, and flies like an overpowered foamie. I think he uses an 18x6 NX prop. Total weight of the engine, header, pipe, ignition, battery, switch, and accessories. Of course you can use a much smaller fuel tank, so that should save a bit of weight. Using one of Ed Skorepa's or Aeroslave's carbon pipes will help as well.

Of course, I don't know if this will provide the combination of thrust AND speed required for pattern.

On 3/27/06, Rex LESHER <

Bob,
Take a look at this motor. Its weight is almost the
same as an OS160. I have
not been able to find any specifications for power
as of yet. The only
drawback so far is the big carburetor up front.

this, do we believe the "140 Petrol" powerplant suggestion??? I do
*not*, as I've BTDT with the MVVS 1.60 Petrol... the only 140 out there is
the RCS, and it don't have the guts of the MVVS.... OTOH, if it is really
