<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have noticed a behavioral change in this
discussion list over the years when it comes to electric power. There was always
some polarization to Radios and engines etc.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>**********Electric is generating more or less
polarization?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>What I noticed most was that the glow era
engine owners were very willing to report their engine failures and a whole
myriad of engine fixes and preventative medicine.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>**********Electric is still a small percentage of
pattern, and those currently running electric are learning - the large
historical database of problems and fixes does not exist yet.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I still see the latter but not as much of the
failure reporting. I put this down to sponsored pilot behavior with all
products.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>***********Sponsored pilots in the past reported
failures of glow engines and now the same pilots don't report failures with
electrics??? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I also noted a change at the top.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>***********Pilots at the top - this would be the US
Team (and the handful of other pilots legitimately pushing the guys on the
Team)? The current US Team was all glow, and is now transitioning to
electric - but the Team is the same - no change at the top.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Now most all the pilots are sponsored in one
form or another. We always had a few sponsored pilots but now the unsponsored
pilot is the exception.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>***********Numbers please!!! Much of the
sponsorship that used to go to pattern now goes elsewhere - this trend has been
happening for many years in response to the growth of IMAC style planes, jets
(duct fan and turbine), electrics, and 3D in general.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Maybe it is time to have a Pro-Am separation in the
awards?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>************No more so now than in the past.
But hey, acknowledging our numbers now are smaller than in the past, why not set
up Pro-Am, and do it for each of juniors (under 18), seniors (59.5 plus), and
open (between 18 and 19.5) - odds are we could all go home with
awards?</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
