<DIV>The Perry pumper carb has sweet running characteristics with either the
Perry pump or webra pump feeding it. I ran it in a webra 145 for about 50
flights and it worked well in the metering department. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I was not terribly happy with the stickiness of the barrel in the plastic
case however, and stopped using it. To get the carb tight enough in the
crankcase throat, I had to snug it down far enough where the plastic carb
housing distrorted. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The same guts with an ally case would alleviate the sticky distortion
problem of the Perry pumper carb. I talked with Conley about the problem and was
told he was going to look into it but I guess he didn't. The carb design fits my
requirements of KISS and would otherwise be excellent for our application</DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>One point of interest here and it hasn't been
mentioned in any of the other posts. It would be best to run the Perry
Carb when using the Perry pump. I tried this on the ST2300 and it would
not work with the stock carb. Installed the large bore Perry carb and
once the needle was set it was fire it up and fly and a very reliable
setup. I would check to see if there is a carb available for the
OS 1.60 and concider this since its not worth the time and frustration(carb
cost is well worth it). I now run that ST2300 in a Funtana and I
never touch the needle setting, amazingly the engine has the original bearing
and ring and it has well over 450 flights on it.</FONT></DIV>
