<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Nat,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I used to make Obechi sheeted sailplane wing for
Slegers International back in the early nineties, so I can say I have a fair
amount of experience. The stuff I was using had density of 18 lb/cu ft. The
thickness was just 0.022", so it was like sheeting the wing with 1/16, 6lb
Balsa which is btw hard to get today. The wings had hard surface (compare to
balsa) and were at least twice as strong. Before making any finish, I
filed the grain with the lite spackle (more on this later if you're
interested).</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Back then, I was buying Obechi from Barry Kennedy
at <A
href="http://www.kennedycomposites.com">www.kennedycomposites.com</A>
You can also try Ed Whyte at WHYTE WINGS, 616-698-8668. There is also outfit
in Washington state which sells the Obechi, but you have to buy bulk,
something like $3k minimum.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The Obechi is a great stuff and inexpensive,
14" wide, 11' long sheet about $12. However, it requires different
techniques. Because of thickness, there is no room for
mistakes. ed</FONT></DIV>
