Will miss Don.   The Don Lowe Masters- was a privilege and honor to have been able to experience and compete with the best pilots in the world- his wisdom, patience, focus and passion for flying pattern and giant scale aerobatics.

Don Lowe, a legend in the model aviation community, passed away today at the age of 98, leaving behind a legacy that transcends his remarkable accomplishments in the field. While his contributions to aviation are well-documented, his profound impact on institutions like Triple Tree Aerodrome truly distinguishes his legacy.Don's journey into model aviation began over six decades ago. He was marked by a career that saw him rise to prominence as a World War II pilot, aerospace engineer, and leader within the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). His unparalleled dedication to advancing the hobby and his visionary leadership left an indelible mark on the community. However, his role in shaping the legacy of Triple Tree Aerodrome alongside his wife, Clara, stands as a testament to his enduring influence. As one of the driving forces behind Triple Tree's ascent to prominence, Don's passion and advocacy helped elevate the aerodrome into a cherished destination for aviation enthusiasts worldwide. The road leading into Triple Tree bears the name Don and Clara Lowe Blvd, a fitting tribute to their unwavering commitment to the aerodrome's success. This honor serves as a reminder of their profound impact on the Triple Tree story and the model aviation community. While Don's passing marks the end of an era, his legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to know him and the countless individuals who continue to be inspired by his passion for flight. As Triple Tree Aerodrome and the model aviation community mourn the loss of a true pioneer, they also celebrate the enduring legacy of Don Lowe, a man whose contributions will be remembered for generations to come.
