My guess is nobody is doing firmware updates to their Proton Pathfinder via the STM32?...
Well, after many, many hours, I figured out the problem, so please note:
On the Proton Control Systems Facebook page (Dated Nov 4, 2021) they post firmware path at:
>From download instructions:
- Downloading Arduplane file, arduplane_with_bl.hex from https://firmware.ardupilot.org/Plane/stable/OMNIBUSF7V2/ This is INCORRECT!
- The CORRECT PATH is: https://firmware.ardupilot.org/Plane/stable/omnibusf4pro/ Use file arduplane_with_bl.hex
I've asked Proton to update their Facebook page to reflect the correct path.
Crazy problems an error on their part like this causes... They need to pay me back for finding this issue... lol... The wrong firmware path created a boot problem, so the Pathfinder no longer looked like a USB device, thus you could no longer use Mission Planner... In addition it could not be used as a flight logging device!

Hey Gang, have any of you updated the firmware on the Proton Pathfinder, using the STM32 program software? In any case, it requires that the Pathfinder be in DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode, which is done by putting a paper clip on the DFU mode button.
Programing the Pathfinder with the STM32, while in DFU mode, worked great, however, it stays stuck in the mode, thus I'm not able to use the Mission Planner now. Of course I've tried power cycling and holding the button down, but to no change.
I could not find anything on this issue via Protons Facebook page, or anywhere else. Steve Hanna was able to update his FW via Mission Planner, where my hardware would not, thus using the STM32 software.
Best regardsDerek...
