+1 for my 2019 Audi Q7 as well.

Audi Q7

I have a 2015 and fits 2 pattern planes. The 2017‘s and later are just a tad shorter but work fine. Great driving dynamics and electronics. You really can’t get a better ride.

The 2020 Explorer and Aviator work great as well. I rented a chevy traverse and was impressed with the room but it was noisy and unrefined.

So, Audi Q7 gets my vote.

Thanks to all for the feedback! It has been very helpful.

I just drove a Flex and it felt very generic but I may be a little spoiled in my choices these days. Couldn't get an appointment at Volvo until Tuesday so I have to wait until then to compare.

The Pacifica great. I can’t get 2 pattern planes, the electronic scoring equipment, everything I need tools, generator and more important my wife with all her stuff. I can’t describe how much is that. I can’t fit all that in any other car. Besides that, I also can fit 2 IMAC 35% planes. The only huge problem is that is NOT sexy. With tail wind more than 30 mph. If you like to be green get the hybrid.

Acura MDX has worked well for

Me. Don’t think I can get 2 Parten planes in it but one fits with room to spare - and it’s ride is quite nice and nearly 30MPG on the highway.

Never really looked at the Flex. Just couldn’t get past it’s looks. I have the XC 90. Possible to fit 2 planes but tight. Generator would have to go in the front seat. Never compared it to the XC60 or V models.

Nice features and ride on the Volvo.

For pattern room I still like my last vehicle the Honda Pilot. Generator will fit behind the front seat (Volvo has non removable rear headrests that take up too much space when folded down.)

Hello pattern pilots,

After 196k miles my Sienna is worn out and after 18+ years of driving mini vans I am done with those too. Contests are rarely big travel weekends any more and I never bring more than one plane so the reduction in space shouldn't be an issue. Now looking at a Ford Flex or Volvo V60. Does anyone have any experience with either of these or a similar alternative?

Thanks,

Anthony
