JohnThis is from Davis Snow regarding the Graupner ESC.This is what he's found. Dave runs these esc's in his Helis at 12S also.Mike, as far as I know there are no limitations on the Graupner esc concerning the brake unlike the issues of running the brake over 30% for the CC. The Graupner actually has a dynamic break from the limited few weeks I flew it last year. Once the brake is engaged it appeared that the lower one lowered the low end the higher the break percentage would be.  I only flew the esc after the NATs last year for a few weeks and at first I did not realise it was changing the break the lower I lowered the low end. This might be good or bad feature but I'm sure someone would be able to make good use of it. I had no issues with temperatures and it seemed like the Pyro 600 motor for the contra ran much better. I think it will work well with the Pletty or any other current motor out there.

#yiv0699641106 Guys, I really appreciate all the feedback and experience with the equipment. I have had some offline e-mails, text, and a couple phone calls.  Short summary is people have had, or are having, success with a wide range of ESCs. I haven’t been told by anyone to stay away from a brand, just some differences in strengths/weakness.  I hope to be ordering from F3A Unlimited by the end of the month, assuming I’m called back to work by then. Been on Furlough since April 6th, no call today so it will be at least another week.  Best Regards,  Larry Diamond(812) 630-9592  From: NSRCA-discussion [mailto:nsrca-discussion-bounces at lists.nsrca.org] On Behalf Of mups53 via NSRCA-discussionSent: Friday, June 5, 2020 5:44 PMTo: Michael Cohen <precisionaero at hotmail.com>; General pattern discussion <nsrca-discussion at lists.nsrca.org>; STEVE S <steve at ironstarmechanical.com>Subject: Re: [NSRCA-discussion] Plettenberg Advance 30-10 ESC - Questions  Guys many customers use Castle on a Pletty Advance but in the last few years less and less. Sales of CC related items are probably down 80% on their units versus 5 years ago.Graupner is very popular as well as Jeti. And for those thinking Graupner is done. Wait a few weeks. We're back.My issues with CC is the braking or lack of.It's never been up to snuff with others on the market. Also I like a BEC feature in the Graupner HV80 non opto. It makes for a slick easy to use redundant system. But hey whatever floats your boat is Saul Goodman.Mike Mueller     Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone    -------- Original message --------From: Michael Cohen via NSRCA-discussion <nsrca-discussion at lists.nsrca.org> Date: 6/5/20 5:04 PM (GMT-06:00) To: STEVE S <steve at ironstarmechanical.com>, General pattern discussion <nsrca-discussion at lists.nsrca.org> Subject: Re: [NSRCA-discussion] Plettenberg Advance 30-10 ESC - Questions   I have used the Pletty advance with a Castle HV80 in two pattern ships for years.  I can send you my program if you like Larry Regards,Mike C Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: STEVE S via NSRCA-discussionSent: Friday, June 5, 2020 9:14 AMTo: 'davel322'; 'General pattern discussion'; 'Larry Diamond'Subject: Re: [NSRCA-discussion] Plettenberg Advance 30-10 ESC - Questions Larry I just went thru this for Brandon with his new Andes . He also has flown HIMAX and Edge 80 HV   Now he is flying Pletty with 120 Edge HV Lite – I spoke to Castle about amp draws, airflow. Airflow is critical for all. However with the 120 lite running at 75 amps most times and bumping up to 90 amps for intermittent useAirflow on the Edge 120 HV Lite is not an issue. Also it is 8 grams lighter than the Edge 80 amp HV. Steve Sobolewski                                             From: NSRCA-discussion [mailto:nsrca-discussion-bounces at lists.nsrca.org] On Behalf Of davel322 via NSRCA-discussionSent: Thursday, June 4, 2020 10:28 PMTo: Larry Diamond <Larryd at diamondrc.com>; General pattern discussion <nsrca-discussion at lists.nsrca.org>Subject: Re: [NSRCA-discussion] Plettenberg Advance 30-10 ESC - Questions Zero concern for a Castle 80HV at 100 Amps for pattern use.  I use the lite version and is also fine but needs to have good cooling  Regards,  Dave Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note8. Apologies in advance for any typos undoubtedly introduced by auto correct and / or talk to text.   -------- Original message --------From: Larry Diamond via NSRCA-discussion <nsrca-discussion at lists.nsrca.org> Date: 6/4/20 22:45 (GMT-05:00) To: 'General pattern discussion' <nsrca-discussion at lists.nsrca.org> Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Plettenberg Advance 30-10 ESC - Questions  I’m getting ready to build an Alchemy and committed to buying another plane that should arrive late August/early September, and will have it built/delivered RTF. Both will get a new Plettenberg Advance 30-10. I’ve purchased the Pletty for both planes already. This is a big change for me as I have been flying a Himax 6330-210 Pro w/ a Castle HV80 ESC since 2011. This set up has been reliable for me, but I am ready for a change. I really like the Castle ESCs, but I don’t want to fight the Pletty. Also I have seen some data that the Pletty can pull up around 90+ Amps based on some posts I have read on various forums. I don’t know if it is normal for a Pletty to be over 80 Amps. What is the preferred ESC for the Pletty? What settings for the ESC?How is your Throttle Curve set up? I have a Futaba 18sz. I will likely be flying a Falcon 3 blade 19  x 13.5    to   20 x 12.5 Best Regards, Larry Diamond(812) 630-9592  _______________________________________________NSRCA-discussion mailing listNSRCA-discussion at lists.nsrca.orghttp://lists.nsrca.org/mailman/listinfo/nsrca-discussion
