Love the Qr code on that license card! I’ve been saying for a while having something like that on our AMA cards would greatly simplify last minute registrations at local Contests!

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Some New FAI Rules going into effect in 2022

This email is from an external sender.

Hey All,

Prior to leaving for Italy for this years world champs I wanted to share some new rules that have passed that will go into effect in 2022 (for the 2023 WC). The most noteworthy one, is the addition of a Female WC title. Each team will be allowed to enter FIVE contestants. 3 traditional team members, one Junior, and one Female. Like with the Jr pilot, should a woman make the traditional team, we would still be allowed to bring an additional female pilot.

The goal of course is to promote better diversity within the sport. There was legitimate concern that it could increase the cost for both host countries (additional trophies, additional judges if it increases overall # of competitors), and for participating countries having to fund additional pilots, but that was overruled in favor of generating more diverse interest. We’ll see where that goes.

The other rule change is in regard to aircraft Identification. Currently for WC events we use our National NAC Number… in our case our AMA number preceded by USA in 25mm high (1”) letters. Starting in 2023, we will be using our unique FAI ID number. For those that aren’t familiar, for world events we must register and have an FAI license (see Attached)

In the example below, my current number (AMA) is USA2827 Starting in 2023 if I were to compete in a world cup or world championship event I would need to have USA66980 on the plane instead.

Thats it for now!!! Wish us luck!! We’ll be leaving for Italy this Sunday, preliminaries begin on the 4th I believe. I’ll be providing updates…just not sure through which venue yet. That will depend some on our internet availability. PLEASE PLEASE check out our Team Raffle!!! I’ll be adding another item to it here shortly - A full Cadence kit (laser cut balsa & Foam w/ plans)

Lastly, a HUGE congratulations to our Team Alternate - AC Glen who just won the US Nationals. He’s been at the ready for us, which is not an easy position to be in, but greatly appreciated.

I’ll send out some info on where I’ll be posting as soon as I have that figured out!!

-Mark
