In the maneuver description for the hourglass both a positive and negative option are listed. I will update the aresti.  Thank you for asking the question :)

        Hourglass (middle entry, top first) 1 ½ snap roll down, exit inverted (D):  From upright, pull a 1/8 inside loop to a 45 degree upline, hesitate, pull a 3/8 inside loop to level inverted flight, hesitate, pull a 3/8 inside loop to a 45 degree down-track, hesitate, perform a 1 ½ snap roll (snap roll may be positive or negative), hesitate, pull a 3/8 inside loop to level upright flight, hesitate, pull a 3/8 inside loop to a 45 degree up line, hesitate, pull a 1/8 inside loop to exit inverted.

Downgrades:

·           Climbing and diving paths not 45 degrees. Apply One Point per 15-Degree Rule”.

·           Loop segments not round and of equal radius.

·           Wings not level during loop segments.

·           Changes in track during loop segments or prescribed roll elements.

·           Snap roll not centered on line and in center of box.

·           Over or under rotation of prescribed rolls. Apply “One Point per 15-Degree Rule”.

·           Snap roll not a snap roll scores 0.


In the AMA classes unless there is a written description of an immediate reversal a hesitation is expected.  The description of the 3 of 4 reversed includes the hesitation.

    Two 3 of 4 Point rolls reversed (inverted entry and exit) (D):  From inverted, perform a 3 of 4 point roll, hesitate, perform a 3 of 4 point roll opposite to exit inverted.

Downgrades:

·           Hesitation is not 90, 180, 270, 180, 90 and 0 degrees.  Apply “One Point per 15-Degree Rule”.

·           Hesitation at 270 is not centered (Knife Edge).

·           Roll rates not constant.

·           Changes in altitude.

·           Changes in track.

Have the proposed sequences for 2020-21 been approved?  Looking forward to learning the new Masters and this will be very challenging for me.

Will there be an option for doing a negative 1 1/2 snap in the hour glass?

Can there need to be a pause (when in KE) between the two "3 of 4 point rolls reversed” in #16?  It would seem so since it’s AMA and that’s how we score the slow rolls opposite.

Looks like it’s going to be a great pattern for next year.
