[NSRCA-discussion] Hardcopy K-Factor

Hi all,

Speaking as an ex long term NSRCA member, I do remember giving up membership for two main reasons.

1. I had no direct benefit remaining a member-and there was little relevance in being an member

2. Costs-exchange rates were terrible at the time( and now back to being terrible) It did cost me close to a $100 AU a year for quite a few years

I did however love being informed of what is going on with all my pattern friends in the US-but contest report, after contest report were (becoming) somewhat boring to me. I loved the more technical articles and equipment related articles, but they were very few and far between. I do however also appreciate just how insanely difficult it is to get people to contribute any form of article. I even threatened to do so myself on numerous occasions, even to the point where I was going to offer my design, plans etc for the K-Factor, building articles etc. But it all fizzled out for various reasons. Who knows…if there is interest, maybe I’ll come up with something again.

I just wanted to mention-I for one would be more than happy to pay a token fee as an ‘overseas’ member, whereby I could gain access to the soft copy of the K-factor. I have no real need to be a voting member, it serves no purpose for me ( or you!). BUT…for pure information sharing, seeing what you guys are up to etc…I’d be happy to pay a limited membership for K-Factor access only.

Just an idea gents…but you clearly have my vote for it. Call it an ‘associate’ membership??

Tom

Just my thoughts..... What is the harm in non NSRCA members being able to view a K-factor ? It may help promote pattern, and in the end, isn't that what we are trying to do ?

I was thinking the same thing - particularly for the electronic copy. In addition to promoting the hobby, distributing it to non-NSRCA members also broadens the exposure for advertisers.
