WOW. That video looks a lot like Pattern. Only another Figure Skater can
fully appreciate how hard that must be.

More like watching the older compulsory figures from figure skating. The
part that was not even telecast except to show it happened :) Face it even
at a contest, except to watch the better flyers to see how it should be
done, or your competitors, even we don't watch most of the flights unless
judging and I have seen some judges zone out as well :)

Yup this is fun to watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJDOxzANY1s

I was speaking in terms of how exciting it is to watch, not the
"performance" itself. Figure skating is closer to IMAC freestyle.

I disagree, it's the equivalent of figure skating

The thing is, from a spectator POV, Pattern is the model aviation equivalent
to Olympic Curling.

I've said for a while what we need is a professionally produced 'demo video'
showing pattern flying with expert and color commentary just like Olympic
gymnastics and ice skating gets...

Regarding what we're up against, I'm sitting here watching ESPN. On this
channel, they are broadcasting the DRL Drone Racing series and US Nationals
in New York. It's an hour show on ESPN and the crowd is amazing.
Unfortunately, the draw of this is where our youngsters are looking and
going. There's RC modelers doing the commentary. If we want to compete with
this draw, we definitely need to look "outside the box".
