I remember my Dad flying against Jim Whitley, and beating him at a local contest. Jim was flying Pro-Line of course, and my Dad was flying Citizenship, not considered by the pattern elite as being a great radio. Jim came over after the contest, picked up my Dad's transmitter, fiddled with it, and walked away shaking his head!
