[NSRCA-discussion] Detroit Invitational

I saw that too. My dad built the Perigee, Orion, Taurus. The servos were big, receiver was big, batteries big, but the planes were thin skinny things. It was really challenging to fit everything. The pattern was simple because the planes were very difficult to keep airborne. Everything was fragile and lasted only a few flights. No one got more than a few flights a week because of the extensive amount of maintenance and repair required to keep them going. Planes didn't last long either. Something was always failing causing loss of aircraft. I knew some of these pilots and they were amazing flyers.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Detroit Invitational

All these oldie remembrances got me to thinking about old contests I have attended. I went to a Detroit Invitational back in the day, but cannot for the life of me, remember where it was held (please don’t say Detroit).

I remember seeing Tom Brett and probably saw Ed Kazmirski, Ron Chidgey and Phil Kraft (the years have blurred who, when and where).

 Any help out there?
