[NSRCA-discussion] Is the list super quiet?

With Matt’s skills at building lightweight painted wings….I bet he could have a V4 Contra powered Allure builders kit flying at 9 lbs 15 ounces. :)

Dave

Hey Matt,

The question of the day to make this list go busy very fast. When are you going to electrify one of your planes? You need to try at least once.

Best,

Hi Matt

The market is very hard to gauge. I too always liked the Griffin.

Thanks Vince and all. The list is quiet, not a bad thing.

As far as practice I'm hoping for some too. Maidened the gasified Griffin Sunday. A very nice flier and very light; less than 10#. As true as this plane flies, it has me scratching my head to figger why it was an unpopular plane. It had a wing spar problem but that was fixed.'

I’ve tried most of the available lenses, colors, coatings over the years for both flying and shooting. There are advantages and not to most, personal preference and correction factors play a role. Anyway, I stumbled into what I’ve found to be best for me for flying by selecting lenses for everyday use. These are Transitions Xtra Active grey (available in brown or green also) with Crizal Sapphire non-glare coating (tried Avance version & didn’t like). Oh, and these are also blended bifocals (Varilux?). These are all I wear now for everyday and flying, best airplane vision I’ve had in years and the glare reduction is great for night driving. They do retain a bit of tint indoors, but very little and not a bother.

Looking in Don's website he has some info on glasses. Zeiss hi index seem to be the best but are very hard to find.

My current Rx glasses use plastic lenses from one of the chain eyeglass places and these truly suck rotten eggs.

I'm looking for the best solution for glasses that allow reasonably sharp vision at the distance of interest but with minimal glare (my current glasses are so glary I have to take them off when looking at near objects). What are folks using?

Thanks and Regards
