Did you guys think about  duct taping a Fluke meter to the canopy and then glue a Wi-Fi camera to the meter so you can read the voltage while flying . . .

What I think would be really cool is an LED on a deans arming plug so that plug lights up when it's in and armed.  Put different colors based on voltage and you have a cheap check for accidentally using a discharged pack.

If all you want is an external indication of armed packs, this is really easy to do. I just installed a blinding green LED on mine . I have mine connected to my RX on an unused channel. Since I use the Mezon 90 with BEC it will be illuminated when either my main packs are connected or if just my backup is powering the RX. 

I got the LED (actually several colors to try), mount and a 270 ohm resistor from sparkfun and allelectronics.  Sparkfun's LED's are brighter than allelectronics. I can see the darn thing 150m out!

for the resistor & LED?  Is resistor gonna get hot?

This raises question of at what voltages will LED be on?

We want it on, in the case pilot runs batts way too low, as

in loaded a used set and got a third of the way thru sequence.

I guess nothing is as simple as it first appears.

In my Bravo, given large canopy, LED will have to mount in front of

firewall, or behind canopy.

I'm still interested in an LED that would confirm installed batts

are above 20v, to prevent installing a lightly or heavily used set.

In its simplest form, It's just a resistor and an LED.

Not with the LEDs I use.  You can see them at 50 feet on a bright day.

Someone mentioned how can you tell if the plan is energized. Hmm, how about an LED light at the top of the plan just behind the canopy that is lit when the system is energized. Oh my, that’s another worm for the cam.
