Wait, so I'd get higher scores if I fly with a Kilt?

Can do!

I think you’d need to check with Pete Collinson on that. He has a pretty long history on good looking callers.

Yes, I don’t think it’s defined anywhere in the rules but experience shows that maneuver scores are inversely proportional to the length of her skirt/shorts. J

And I've found the guys who have a pretty girl calling for them get better scores from the judges too!

The best way to deal with this is to find a pretty girl to call the sequence for you. That way you don’t have to remember anything during practice or at a contest AND you’ll have something fun to do AFTER the contest when you’re back at the hotel! This method WORKS! In fact it’s how I won the “D1 402 District Champion” award in 2006. J

Several years ago to assist learning the Pattern I attached a MP3 player about the size of a AA battery to the back of the 9zap and advanced the sequence with a finger on the button.

It worked but it was distracting and the recorded maneuver spacing had to be just right.

Also…..with all the ‘2 of 8’ or other lengthy descriptive verbiage I had to rename the maneuver to something much shorter.

Essentially it was a hassle.

But it worked to help learn the sequence.

With the 18mz it is possible to record the maneuvers into the transmitter memory and use a normal switch for the next maneuver.

But the outcome was the same as before….just a bit more convenient due the switching.

I went back to the airplane on a stick to learn the pattern and I don’t have to go to the field.

The concept of this app to fill in as a portable caller for competition aerobatic sequences is great, especially for learning a new sequence. I'm looking forward to getting this app to work well and consistently!.
In its current version, I also noticed inconsistent "triggering", both in voice and in motion-control of the phone, to advance to speak the next maneuver. Is a second RX really the only way to have a switch-feature? Ron L. and I discussed this earlier today and thought some external switch, not necessary an existing one on the TX, would help, such as a foot-toggled one, or maybe a switch that could be velcrowed to the tx or tx tray that is wired directly to the phone in some easy-connection manor.

I'll look into adding an option to not roll backwards. And yeah, I'm aware of the challenges with voice at the field, it's why I added roll control and the bluetooth device that works with a spare receiver to let you control it from a switch on your TX.

Good point on the revert. I'm somewhat intentionally not maintaining state between the different views.

Thanks Peter.
Is there any way to stop the tilt control from making the caller go backwards? The AP is handy for having all of the sequences available on your phone but I have been unable to have it work as a caller when flying. Tilt sort of works but it always goes backwards at some point. Voice control is too unreliable at the field. (apple device)

Also if I am switch pages to look at the list of maneuvers when I get back to the calling page the class reverts to Classic 35K from whatever I was looking at.

New proposed NSRCA Advanced and Masters sequences have been added to RCCaller app. You may need to hit the refresh button (circular arrow) at the top of the main screen to get the updated sequences loaded. They are shown as "Advanced 2016" and "Masters 2016"
