Great for YOU Larry and welcome you and your son back.. I thank you and your son for your service from us. They didn't have tiger cruises on the ships I served on in 68-74.

  Back on the discussion group after I signed off for a couple weeks due to setting up the Auto-Reply...

  Had a great trip sailing on my son's ship from Pearl Harbor to San Diego, 9 days at sea. He returned from an 8 month deployment. I'm glad he is back stateside, his wife more so I'm sure... :-).

  Last time I took that voyage was 30 years ago in 1984. I was the same rank and age as my son when I made my last voyage from Pearl Harbor. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity I couldn't pass up making this voyage with my son.
   
  It is called a "Tiger Cruise", a long standing tradition to allow family members and friends to sail on the US Navy ship returning to the homeport on the final leg of a deployment.
