First, I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the list server
being offline.

TL;DR version, it's back, up to date with DMARC work arounds.

Details:

Due to the recent DMARC implementation by a number of larger email
providers, I needed to upgrade the mailing list software to avoid the
bounce/unsubscription issues many have been experiencing.

I had been slowly chipping away at the upgrades to bring the OS and
software up to date as time allowed, but didn't realize that one upgrade
which failed last Friday actually took the list software offline.

Once I discovered the outage yesterday, I pressed ahead with completing
the upgrades as quickly as work and family would allow.

The DMARC related changes have been implemented on all 34 mailing lists
I host.  In addition, I've removed prior DMARC related moderation and
bounce unsubscription from as many affected folks as I can identify.

Visible changes to list messages:

You'll note that the message FROM address will no longer be the
individual who actually sent the message, but rather the list server
itself.  Mailman tries to preserve the original sender ID in the from
text field and adds it to the reply-to: field as well.  For more detail,
see http://wiki.list.org/display/DEV/DMARC

We're using the Munge From option.

Again, my apologies and if you or someone you know of have questions or
problems, please let me know and I'll do my best to help in a timely manner.

Once again it is time for another shout out and well done to the American Turf Flyers in Broken Arrow, OK.? The club hosted their annual pattern contest this weekend and went out of their way to make all of us feel welcome and to make sure our time there was as enjoyable as possible.? Chris White and Dave Harmon, did a great job getting this event organized and made it run smoothly for all of us.? Great day of flying on Saturday and then a soft but persistent rain put a damper on the activities for Sunday.? So everyone left for a little early but we all had great time.? A while back, the guy responsible for prepping my aircraft forgot to hook up the aileron servos and the aircraft experienced an exciting rolling takeoff, followed by loud crunching noises.  The fuselage is ?smooshed? (a technical term used by aeronautical engineers).  However, the wings, while slightly damaged, are repairable and the horizontal tail components and rudder are undamaged.  I am offering these parts for the cost of shipping only, because I want to get this embarrassing reminder of the accident out of my shop.

If interested, please contact me offline.

Hey Guys,

A couple notes on using Master Scoring.

If using the FAI format for F3A, the application will calculate number of
pilots to advance out of the prelims into the semis based on the 30% rule.
You most likely will want to override this at a local contest.  Enter a
number in Prelim Adv greater than or equal to the number of participants
here:

(Hopefully the screen print of the Judges tab below will display.)

Since a local contest usually ends after the semis, enter 3 for Semi Adv and
the top 3 will have the asterisk to indicate money winners.

The other note is regarding Check In.  This feature is for sharing the
contest file with others so you can collaborate during the setup.  To use
this, you must first email a copy of the contest file to the other person.
Then as each of you open the file, the app will check to see if a newer
version exists based on a key contained in the file.

If you are sending me a file to review, please use the Upload button on the
Reports tab as it's easier for me to identify the file in the repository.
If I make a change, I will use Check In and then you can click Get Latest to
download that change.

If you have an upcoming contest and are unsure of the configuration, upload
your file and send me an email and I'll be happy to review it.

Thanks,

Scott

Thanks Dan.

The Tulsa Pattern headcount has diminished somewhat over the past couple of
years but those of us who are left are lifers and will keep this contest
going.

It is always great seeing the great group of Midwest pilots several times
during the year..this contest is one of those times.

For some reason I enjoyed this contest more than usual..

I'll see you all at Pittsburg.

You're welcome, I'm happy I can make a contribution to the community.

One last issue I'm aware of on the list server is a change in the
mechanism used to search the archives.  Mailman has moved away from
Mhonarc for search functionality and therefore searching the archives is
currently broken, but I intend to get that sorted out shortly.
