Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Castle ESC question.
I brought my airplane out of its winter hibernation today and simply went to
test the airplane with some new batteries. I have not changed any ESC or
radio settings since the end of the last season. When I released the
throttle cut/safety switch and went to spin the motor, nothing happened.
In more detail: I plugged in ESC and got the normal spark. The ESC played
the Castle power tune, counted 10 cells, but does not play the arming tune.
Setting the throttle to full (with a restrained plane of course) did yield
additional beeps, but did not ever spin the motor. I don't see any
troubleshooting on the Castle website, hence the post.
If I do plug the ESC into the castle link controller to double check
settings, does the motor have to be unplugged? I have shrink wrapped the
bullets for the motor/ESC connection together and would rather not separate
them. I will remove the prop, of course.
Regards,
Mike Cohen
