Just a thought on setting your club dues…It might help if you can estimate your expenses and present them to the club as part of your rate proposal. I've been a club secretary/treasurer forever and have found that most guys have no idea what it costs to operate a club. 
It will go easier if you can justify your rate with something other than "Most other clubs charge X$".

Most of the clubs out here in the Silicon Valley area are in the $120/year range, $10 initiation at one. One club wants $200.

Note that one of the clubs flies on county land so their costs for field upkeep are low.
