[NSRCA-discussion] Huntsville Contest

It was a great time, I did better than I thought. My goal was to place in the top 10. This was achieved and what a great success for me finishing 4th... Outta... Uhhh, OK, four... :-)

I also learned how a 2M Plane behaves on the down line of a Stall turn with 1/4 rolls up/down, "If you forget to let go of the rudder and try to roll out". I have never done that before, however, it didn't quite make a "Weedon"... It was interesting though...

After talking with RVP, I found my nerves much settled as I was distracted wondering, in awe, if he was one of the founding fathers of Pattern.

Shout out to JD (James) for his coaching/calling and assistance. I have some things to work on... However, more importantly I logged my first official flight with a 2M pattern plane since June 2007.

Another Shout Out to a very young man flying Sportsman. He has only been flying RC for 4 months. I don't recall his name (hopefully somebody else will), but it looks like he is surrounded by a great supporting cast. We need to keep a look out for him... Great kid !!!!

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Huntsville Contest

I had a great time at last weekend's Huntsville contest.  There were more than 20 contestants, with seven from just my club.

Larry Diamond was there and, even though he was concerned about how he'd do, managed to get fourth place in Intermediate.

The big group who participated in the traditional visit to Rosie's Cantina on Saturday evening had a great time.
