Thanks Mark for suggesting Hobby People early in my E-160 project. The
4500's dropped the weight to 10lb 3oz with wood prop. I'm getting through
the masters sequence with a recharge between 2000 and 2400 mah.

I've been running HP packs for the last 3 years and love them. VERY durable
and good power. Unfortunately they've stopped making the 5000 packs. The
530gm listing is for those... they clearly never change the weight listing
when they moved to 4500 packs. The 4500's have ranged from 440gms to about
500gms at the heaviest. I think for most they will be great. For flying
FAI I'm concerned I'm running them too hard as I often take 4000 out of them
on a windy day, and sometimes more flying the F pattern.

Oops, actual weight you gave is lower than the spec for that HP 4500mah 30c.

I just received two of the Hobby People's 5S 4500mAh 30C Lipos.

On sale at $59.99ea

Here is the link:

http://www.hobbypeople.net/index.php/hobby-people-18-5v-4500mah-5s-30c-lipo-
battery.html

Initial reaction - Much smaller than the 5S packs I'm using now. was a kind
of an eye opener for me.

My current 5S lipos:
Capacity: 5000mAh
C Rating - 30C/40C
Weight - 623g (+/- 2g); or, 1,247 per pair (two bricks) w/ T-connector
IR Avg/cell - 28 mohms +/- 4mohms

Hobby People 5S lipos:
Capacity: 4500mAh
C Rating - 30C
Weight - 495g (+/- 2g); or, 991g per pair (two bricks) w/ T-connector
IR Avg/cell - 25 mohms +/- 5mohms

I have not flown the Hobby People Lipos yet. So I have no opinion on
performance.

With that said, I will lose 257g using HP Lipos or a tick over 9 ounces...
This is crazy... I need to look and see if my scal is working properly....

My 2M Monolog will be under 10-1/2 pounds with those batteries dispite the
fact I painted the Canopy and the LG/Pants and after repai of the collapsed
gear.

Sounds too good to be true, so I will need to double check again tonight.

I will need to check CG before flying the HP battery...
