But the sun is growing ever larger and will envelope us long before then... <tic>

On a lighter note, a local highway repaving is taking "forever", so somebody posted a "letter to the Editor" in the newspaper that noted the sun will burn out in 10 billion years, so the contractor will "have to finish repaving Eglin Parkway in the dark!"

Nice...
Food for thought... I wonder how many years of pollution by industrialized nations is equal to one St. Helens blast/eruption?
An interesting thought against global warming... Studying Earth's History now... LOL... Since the Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago, ALL DATA Points to Earth Cooling as a trend... Just saying...

The reason for that is some of the same “scientists” that (wrongly) touted global cooling in the 1970s are the same ones now (wrongly) preaching global warming.
The simple change of language from “global warming” to “climate change” should be proof enough that global warming is not happening. However, the politicians and greenies that used “global warming” as justification for bigger government and more government control of the private sector do not want to lose that traction as the fraud of global warming is being disproven. So they (the politicians and greenies) are now using “climate change” in a desperate attempt to tie any naturally occurring climate condition to human influence. If the politicians were really concerned about the environment, wouldn’t they prefer the US drill in international waters rather than leaving it to the Chinese? Does anyone think the Chinese will drill as cleanly as the US? In the case of the greenies, it is nothing other than short sighted…..the idea that they stop the US from drilling is a victory….never mind that the planet is worse off when the Chinese drill instead. I’m not suggesting environmental impacts of human activity should not be considered, just that the interaction be reasonable and considerate of the big picture and long term.
Rant over.

A "global warming" fanatic explained to me that it causes "extremes in temperature fluctuations", including cold. I asked why I couldn't say that "global cooling" causes "extremes in temperature fluctuations", including hot and he was very peeved with me.

Hmmm, How does that Global Warming thing work again? Haven't heard much about that lately... I guess they have cooled down a bit... :^)

Last year on 3/20/12 we hit a high of 85 degrees in Chicago
Today the high is going to reach 25 degrees.
60 degree swing?????
What ever happened to moderation?
Too hot too cold too dry too wet.
It's crazy.
Bottom line is everyone is tired of winter around here. Hoping for a change soon.
