Seriously, no, you don't have to.  However, I'd recommend you do, as Archie might run short of judges at some point.  It can help you at local contests also.  It is free for members, so why not?

Sign-in to the website, go to Judging>Certification and select either Certification Tests if you are doing it for the first time, or select the Re-certification test you need, FAI or AMA.
 
Certification is FREE for NSRCA members, $5 for non-members.  You don't need to be a member to take the test or to get a user name and password to the website, but you need to sign in to get to the tests themselves.

The new website looks great. However, I can't seem to find the judging test on it. The closest I get is a page telling me to pay $5.00 for it. I paid just before the site was changed and I did get the judging material but now I can't get the test. Am I missing something?
