[NSRCA-discussion] N-PAC Jack Daniels

It was 115 Proof which is what they put in the barrels. After it's aged it comes out of the barrels at 140 proof and is cut back down to 80 proof for bottling. Do not ask me why I recall that. Unfortunately that same recall allows for a vivid image of Dorothy dancing on the table for Roy. Some things would best be purged.

It was a fantastic tour though and a great NPAC. I seem to recall that was our current USA Team Member Jason's first FAI victory on a national scale.

I have to chime in here…..I do remember NPAC and the JD trip so well…..I remember being told that the “punch” was strictly for the ladies…of course no one paid attention to that when it was discovered that the punch had one heck of a “punch”…..:>)
Does anyone remember what the proof was of the raw whisky that they let you taste when they opened that little glass door at the bottom of the still and you could finger taste some of the splashing…….wow
RonVan… you are right, the bus ride back was wonderful…:>)

For those that don't know, or have since forgotten <VBG>, the distillery is located in a "dry" county in Tennessee.
Jack Daniels can't sell their product in the county, even on their own property.
They resolved that by giving it away!

The bus ride back from the Jack Daniel's distillery was memorable!

In previous years, it was never truly our day, but it worked out that way as a day of setup for the workers. We have never had a true practice day, but since the sites were free, they were available. Sites 1 and 4 may be available, but that remains to be seen. Once Pylon is done then we will be able to use the sites. Think of it as how the others sites have worked on Saturdays in previous years.
