I uploaded a PDF of the file Bob Skinner uploaded to Facebook. My message is
currently awaiting moderator approval.
CPLR flew a 492 in front of his panel today, and the closest person to him
(on the line today) was his teammate Fabian with a 434.4 and Chad with a
432.8 (882.92 and 879.67 respectively, assuming no shift in raw scores from
TBL). That's a pretty big jump from some really quality pilots. Onda flew a
473.6 (962.6), Silvestri a 449.6 (913.82) and Mayr a 437.6 (889.43) on the
line yesterday. Some interesting points were brought up yesterday on the
list regarding scores, and while not every pilot flying at the WC is the
caliber pilot people may think (unless they've watched the prelims at a
Worlds), guys making the finals at the US Nats aren't flying 880s. I realize
conditions are tough there, but they're not THAT tough that there should be
that much separation. No disrespect to CPLR or Onda at all, and I wish all
the competitors the best. We will see how everything shakes out as more
people fly against each other.
