Yes, parallel charging is for "bulk charging" so you can get back to flying
more quickly. Every so often you need to charge each pack individually to
monitor.

As long as you're using packs that were purchased together and have been
used together, it's all OK.

That I believe was his point on RCU. Which is obviously an easy work

It's not electrically possible to read each pack individually if they're
connected in parallel. Thats why every so often you charge a pack by
itself.

Some guys get all wrapped up and teary-eyed about parallel charging because
they can't monitor each cell down to the 1/10000 Volt or MOhm every charge.

The guys that get all apoplectic about parallel charging typically have
never tried it, or did something illogical like connecting a brand new
fully charged pack in parallel to an old, tired discharged pack and then
wonder why it didn't work.

I believe his question on RCU is if it will do it while parallel charging
and give readings on each pack.

Will it do that?

Obviously he doesn't own one or is capable of reading the manual. When you
start a charge, cycle thru the pages until you get to one that says
"Calculating Internal Resistance(%)". After a few seconds, it shows all of
the cells IR values throughout the entire cycle.

Hmmmmm. There won't be an audience to Hoard's Memphis crew's "clinic" in
Birmingham, because the contest is in Huntsville. Reset your GPS units

The Memphis crew is all packed up, practiced and ready to "depart the fix"
today. We'll be "Ringing the School Bell" right after the pilots meeting
tomorrow morning and puttin' on a clinic in both Advanced and Intermediate
class. Bring your paper and pencils so y'all can take notes . . . We
don't like to repeat ourselves . . . .
