+1. You can email mine as well. Above and beyond the greenhouse gasses generated with snail-mail is the $.44 cost for the postage to the group. That can add up quickly.

And the amount of energy used sending the email is no more than NOT sending the email. Virtually all of the equipment handling the email is on and consuming the electricity it is going to consume already.

"No trees were harmed in the sending of this message, however a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced."

Unless your home is supplied by solar and wind power and the sending and receiving data centers are powered by water/wind/and solar, which is actually not uncommon as many data centers these days are located in the pacific northwest precisely because water generated power is plentiful and cheap :-)

Regardless, mass power production (except by coal) produces fewer greenhouse gasses than sending a letter would consume.

All kidding aside, I think this time around paper is required because it's necessary to first get the appropriate approvals for electronic voting.

I am sure you are aware that sending e-mails consumes electricity, which is generated by power plants, which emit greenhouse gases and, as someone has already mentioned, a large number of electrons are inconvenienced.
